Hi! I am Miss Tree City 2022, Taylor Smith. I graduated from North Decatur in 2020, and am currently at Marian University for nursing. I have a dog, Mr. Beans, and a cat, Bill. I am also a member of Theta Phi Alpha sorority on campus.

 

Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family.
I am the daughter of Sean and Tracy Smith. I have two sisters, Danielle and Kaylee Smith.

Q: Please tell us about your current, past, or future career. What do you love most about what you do?
My future career is a nurse, either in the NICU, pediatric, or mental health. I love being able to spend my days helping those in need, and hope to make each one of my patients smile at least once.

Q: How long have you lived or worked in our community?
I have lived in the community since I was 14. Greensburg welcomed my family and I with open arms!

Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met here in our community?
The most interesting person I’ve met is BY FAR Mary Lou Davis. She is one unique individual, and I am so thankful for all the advice and support she has given me.

Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
I have always wanted to travel to Scotland! My family has so much history in Scotland, and I would love to see where my ancestors are from!

Q: What is one of your favorite movies? TV shows?
My favorite movie is the 2018 The Grinch, and my favorite TV show is Ginny and Georgia.

Q: What advice would you give to people?
One piece of advice I would offer would be to never hold back from what you want. Life is short, and I always try to make the most out of every day.

Q: What is something on your bucket list?
One thing I want to eventually do is take a road trip down Route 66!

Q: What current or former local business makes you the most nostalgic about our community?
100% the Sweet Shop! I have so many memories there during fair week, and I know many others feel the same!

Q: If you could choose anyone that is alive today and not a relative; with whom would you love to have lunch? Why? And where locally would y’all meet for this lunch?
I would LOVE to have lunch with Dolly Parton! She is an idol of mine, and would love the chance to talk to her! I would definitely take her to Carriage on the Square for pulled pork!

Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about our community?
My favorite thing about our community is how you can go anywhere, and see someone you know. Decatur County is home, wherever you go.

Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?
I see myself working at a rural hospital and starting a family in my dream house!

Q: (Even for friends or family), what is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?
Something interesting about me is that my biggest fear is getting shots! Oddly enough, I want to be a nurse!

Q: What is the most beautiful place you have ever been?
I loved visiting Tybee Island, Georgia! Such a beautiful and peaceful area!

Q: Favorite month? favorite holiday? and best single day on the calendar?
My favorite month is May, when school is out for the summer! My favorite holiday is Halloween, and the best single day would be May 29th, my birthday!

Q: Who inspires you to be better?
I am inspired to be better by everyone in Decatur County. I want to make my home proud and am constantly looking for ways to give back to the community that gave so much to me in the short time I’ve lived here.
