Lived in Decatur County all my life, started at the southwest corner and now live in the northeast corner. You can say I love this County with all my heart. As an entrepreneur/business owner has allowed me to develop amazing friendships throughout our County and beyond.

 

Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family.
My husband Larry and I have two sons who brought two amazing daughters-in-law and a Granddaughter into our family.

Q: Please tell us about your current, past, or future career. What do you love most about what you do?
Owner of Vinyl Solutions Unlimited for the past 10-yrs. Getting to know people in our community and beyond is one of my loves. Having a quality product made right here in the USA is something that brings us great joy.

Q: How long have you lived or worked in our community?
All my life, “never ask a woman her age!” LOL

Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met here in our community?
There have been so many, it is hard to name just one. I would definitely rank Rob Smith, principal of north Decatur elementary on the top of my list. He is one of the most genuine, down to earth person I know.

Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
Switzerland, my great-great Grandmother was from Switzerland.

Q: What is one of your favorite movies? TV shows?
Yellowstone is one of my favorite TV shows. Tommy Boy is one of my top movie favorites.

Q: What advice would you give to people?
Always leave people better than you found them.

Q: What is something on your bucket list?
Retire somewhere warm in the winter.

Q: What current or former local business makes you the most nostalgic about our community?
Pickers Paradise, remember going there as a kid and love all the antiques.

Q: If you could choose anyone that is alive today and not a relative; with whom would you love to have lunch? Why? And where locally would y’all meet for this lunch?
Steve Fortner, Steve is such a great friend, and we could talk about anything for hours. I sure miss his conversations. Locally I would like to go to Carriage on the Square.

Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about our community?
Hometown values, this community cares for each other.

Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?
5-yrs I see myself building upon our business. In 10-yrs I see myself retired; loving time spent with family.

Q: (Even for friends or family), what is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?
I always wanted to be a writer, still do.
